Week 26: The Uninhibited Brain
The Skinny
I have reached eighty thousand words, with the final twenty-five scenes to go. I should finish in eight or nine working days.
The News
I took a class at Hugo House called Writing with Russian Fairy Tales. I enjoyed the stories and hope the ideas it generated will enliven the book.
I now am writing the scenes I planned out first. It feels good to get them on paper.

Russian Voldemort
Writing with Russian Fairy Tales featured a character named Koschey the Deathless. His death is inside a needle, which is inside an egg, which is inside a duck, which is inside a hare, which is inside an iron chest , which is buried under a tree. He cannot be killed unless the needle is broken. Koschey is an antagonist in most tales. His usual modus is to steal the hero's wife. Often the hero's animal helpers make quick work of the layers of security Koschey has around his death.
